If life taught me something, it showed me that no-one is just one thing. Then I woke up. My life was changing
Sydney-based producer WALKER. has released his second single “Lost Our Way”, accompanied by a stark music video.
Offering three-and-a-half minutes of deep house as poignant as they are cathartic, “Lost Our Way” builds stylistically on his debut single “Tommy” which came out in July.
The track throbs with sub-bass and propulsive kicks, teeming with creamily distorted synth-chirps and rich, wide piano chords.
Contemplating the nuanced vastness and erraticity of human emotion, “Lost Our Way” is a pensive piece for the dancefloor.
Its pithy lyrics are owed to London-based Louis the Hippie, whose recitation of his poem “Grace” is here cut and reorganised, forming a memorable hook; we cried together, we shouted, we lost our way, we found it.
The intimate, minimalistic music video stars Louis in profile on a black backdrop.
WALKER. was “instantly captivated” by the “profound words” of Louis’ poem and the power of his voice; “I had goosebumps immediately listening to his vulnerability and expressive accent” – perhaps the crispest component of WALKER.’s glass-clear arrangement.

“Louis’s words resonated with me because they reminded me of what it means to be a human,” says WALKER., “He spoke to our right to express happiness, sadness, anger, fear, kindness, and even our less pleasant sides […] His words grounded me and left me with a profound sense of acceptance.”
