Just days before the release of her brand new album Heard It In A Past Life, Maggie Rogers has shared a stunning live version of her most recent single Light On.
Published by La Blogothèque and directed by Elie Girard, the clip sees Rogers surrounded by a single guitarist and a horde of friends. It’s a party you’ll wish you were at.
Right as her new album looms over the horizon, Maggie Rogers has released a jubilant live version of her sky-high tune Light On.
Released in October last year, Rogers toted Light On as “the most vulnerable I’ve ever felt in a song”, a big call for an artist who has always worn their heart on their sleeve. Opening up has proved mega-successful for Rogers, and as of today Light On has been streamed around 20 million times online.
Whether you’ve been spinning the song since it was released or this new clip is your first introduction, it’s not hard to see the attraction. Light On is sky-high pop at it’s peak, an arms-in-the-air hit from one of Australia’s finest young songwriters.
Light On serves as the final preview to Rogers’ new album Heard It In A Past Life, out this Friday. Her debut major label release and the first Maggie Rogers album since 2014’s Blood Ballet, the record is undoubtedly marking a moment of change for Rogers.
With the weight of a huge fanbase at her back and several years to hone her songwriting into an unmistakably proficient muscle, Rogers is set to take the world by storm this Friday.
And after you’ve done singing through the album, make sure to catch Rogers when she’s touring Australia this May.
