Sydney’s own Misty Lanes recently hit the Live at Enmore studio. It was a special solo performance from the project’s mastermind Steven W Schouten, delivering the retro-psych masterpiece, Charmer.
Armed with nothing but his trusty 12-string, a beat-up reel-to-reel and a sharp suit, Schouten still managed to fill the space with woozy guitar pop.

It’s not every day that someone brings a tape machine as their backing track, but the grainy tone emanating from the old reel-to-reel was the perfect foil for the track.
To top it off, there were rich vibrato strums and shimmering jangles from the guitar, plus Schouten’s laid back vocal delivery.
