We chat with We All Drive about their latest single, Polish Club and rock

QLD natives We All Drive have brought the heat in their latest single Kingscliff. It’s a tasteful blend of Arctic Monkeys and Kings Of Leon packing some serious punch.

The chorus is a seriously dangerous hook and will sneak up inside your eardrum for days and nights.

We All Drive

We chat with We All Drive about the latest single Kingscliff. A floor to wall rock anthem, it will knock your socks off, fall over and never get up.

HAPPY: Hey, how’s it going? What are you up to at the moment?

WAD: It’s been going good. We’ve been working hard on music and playing shows around the Gold Coast and Brisbane areas and are just having fun while we do it.

HAPPY: We’ve been loving ‘Kingscliff’! How does it feel having it out there in the world?

WAD:It’s the same feeling you get when you go to McDonald’s and order some fries and the come out as the freshest, saltiest and best fries you’ll ever get. Pretty damn good. We’ve been wanting to get something out for a while now and it’s relieving to get a good response from it.

HAPPY: Seems like a song that would certainly hit hard live!

WAD: Yeah we’ll it is pretty much the basic idea. We do that with all our songs and mate they have the crowd jumping all night long with best vibes for any and all venues.

HAPPY: Could you tell us a bit about the conception of the song?

WAD: Well for a while, we’ve had this idea of writing a song to show my gratitude to my friends and family for all they’ve done for me over the years. So we started working around this simple chord progression that was thought of and then we wrote lyrics that most people could easily remember (especially at a bar) and that’s pretty much how it all came together really. Over some semi intelligent writing, alcohol, and just jamming at home.

HAPPY: Is it hard or easy to write songs as a two-piece?

WAD: It’s not really that hard to be honest. We mainly just jam out anything on the spot or any ideas that we came up with earlier. We work around structures that would work with those ideas and then write some lyrics that would suit them. That’s pretty much how we roll.

HAPPY: Were there any particular artists you were listening to that inspired the sound of ‘Kingscliff’?

WAD: Polish Club. Lots and lots of Polish Club. And maybe some Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and DZ Deathrays to go along with it. These guys pretty much shifted they way we play our instruments and jam our songs.

HAPPY: What’s next for We All Drive? Any other exciting plans in the works?

WAD: We do have another single planned. We don’t know when we’re gonna release it. Either end of the year or early next year. We don’t know. I guess you could just hit up our socials to keep up to date with what happens… but who knows anything can happen between now and then.

HAPPY: Cheers, thanks alot!
