About a year ago, Wes Anderson announced that his next feature would be an animation in the vein of Fantastic Mr. Fox, only instead of being about mischievous foxes, it would focus on dogs.
Then earlier this week, true to form, Anderson announced a mammoth cast of voice actors for the film, titled Isle of Dogs, including Bill Murray and Yoko Ono, and showed a still of Edward Norton’s character, Rex.
ICYMI, Wes Anderson announced a mammoth cast of legends for his new feature animation, Isle of Dogs, including Bill Murray and Yoko Ono. And he showed a still of Edward Norton’s character, Rex.
The announcement comes via a teaser vid/interview with Anderson:
“I’m here today to officially announce the start of my new film which is called Isle of Dogs. It’s an animated movie and we’re shooting it in England.”
He then goes on to casually rattle off a list of cast members that includes Anderson film staples like Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton and Jeff Goldblum, plus a few curveballs like Scarlett Johansson, Bryan Cranston and bloody Yoko Ono.
Have a gander below:
At the end of the teaser, Anderson also announces a contest with proceeds going to the Film Foundation ( Martin Scorsese’s film preservation effort). Anderson teamed up with the Crowdrise platform for the contest. The winner scores a trip to London to check out the set and gets to be a voice in the movie. Entering the contest requires a $10 donation. Probably worth it….
