What you missed at our exhibition: Samuel McEwen Live From Happy Studios

Last Thursday night we hosted Samuel McEwen Live From Happy Studios, the first event in our newly opened exhibition space.

For 12 weeks Sam was penning weekly comics on current issues in the cultural landscape with Happy Mag, from International Women’s Day to the premiere of Avengers Endgame. The exhibition saw these works coloured, printed and displayed for the first time.

Thanks to everyone who came by Happy HQ for our first exhibition; Samuel McEwen Live From Happy Studios.

Samuel McEwen is an illustrator and comic writer based out of Sydney, who also plays in a few local bands such as BLAND and The S-Bends. His comics explore music and the stories of yesteryear, often looking to heroes such as The Go-Betweens, Patti Smith or The Velvet Underground.

Check out what went down when we invited Sam into the studio below.

If you missed out on the prints, zines, and other knick knacks available on the night, feel free to check out Sam’s online store.

Special thanks to Young Henrys for providing booze on the night.
