RÜFÜS DU SOL announced as the first act for new Brisbane festival Wildlands

A brand new music festival is set to be launched in Brisbane at the end of 2019.

The teams behind beloved festivals Beyond the Valley and Origin Fields will be responsible for bringing this huge one-dayer to life so we will be expecting great things for Wildlands.

Brisbane’s new festival Wildlands has announced magnetic alternative dance group RÜFÜS DU SOL as their first act.

Wildlands promises to bring “the biggest and most exciting dance, electronic, and hip-hop acts” to Brisbane’s showgrounds on Saturday 28 December.

Victoria’s Beyond the Valley has given us acts like Stormzy, DMA’s and The Kooks while Western Australia’s Origin of Fields has brought Cardi B, ScHoolboy Q and Khalid down under.

“We’re really excited to create something just for Brisbane that will be totally different to anything currently on offer, bringing the best of the East and West Coast together for one very special day,” said Michael Cristidis of Beyond The Valley.

Saran Bajaj of Origin Fields is excited about the project due to the smooth booking process of working with the Beyond the Valley team and because of her love of Brisbane.

“It’s so musically and culturally diverse…we will be able to create an event that is unique to Brisbane as beyond the valley is unique to Melbourne and Origin is to Perth.”

Wildlands is expected to have a capacity of 25000 people attending.

Australian’s are now officially spoilt for choice over which summer festival to attend this New Years.
