Yoko Ono is currently working on a biopic that will centre around her relationship with John Lennon as well as “themes of love, courage and activism”.

Ono will be co-producing the yet untitled film alongside Michael De Luca (The Social Network), Josh Bratman, and Anthony McCarten, who will also write the movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“The story will focus on ripe and relevant themes of love, courage and activism in the U.S. — with the intention of inspiring today’s youth to stand up for and have a clear vision for the world they want,” De Luca said in a statement. “I am also honoured and privileged to be working with Yoko Ono, Anthony McCarten and Josh Bratman to tell the story of two amazing global icons.”

Last year, Ono reissued three albums, including two she wrote and recorded with Lennon, and she plans to release more this year, as part of the ‘Yoko Ono Reissue Project’.

Lennon and Ono were married for 11 years after meeting at an art exhibition in 1966. They collaborated on many different creative and political projects, including their infamous bed-ins and most of Lennon’s solo projects.
