Sydney pub rock heroes You Beauty are laying their acclaimed sophomore release Illywhacka on wax in a joint effort between two of Australia’s most loved indie labels – the band’s own Rice Is Nice and Brisbane legends Bedroom Suck.
The band were quick to get their second album out, demanding from Rice Is Nice that Illywhacka be available for digital release just moments after they got the album’s masters back. Since then the record has racked up mountains of acclaim, much deserved for a record dripping with pub rock charm and boasting 12 cracking tales about an online romance scammer who falls in love with his prey.
From January 15th you will be able to get your hands on a copy of Illywhacka on vinyl, complete with a 3000 word lyric booklet and the wonderful prawn love heart cover, designed by Melbourne artist Tessa Chong. You can pre-order from Rice Is Nice and Bedroom Suck now.
You Beauty will also be playing a run of dates to celebrate in late January/early Feb. The band rarely grace the stage so these shows are not to be missed.
