A 2,000-year-old Roman cemetery was found in Gaza by construction workers

20 ornately decorated graves have been discovered near the shoreline in North Gaza.

The Roman cemetery is being referred to as the most important local discovery of the past decade.

The construction team have found 20 graves so far but are expecting to unearth 80 in total within the 50-square-metre cemetery.

Only two of the graves have been opened, revealing skeletal remains and clay jars.
