Studio Ghibli has finally got around to worldwide streaming, announcing that 21 movies will be released on Netflix in the coming months!
Since Studio Ghibli is now distributing their content worldwide, over 20 versions containing subtitles and language dubs will also be shared. Cheers Netflix!
Studio Ghibli animated films will finally be released onto multiple popular streaming sites around the world (including Australia). We are over the moon!
Studio Ghibli is a Japanese animation film studio created by Miyazaki Hayao, Takahata Isao and Suzuki Toshio. The trio combined their creation, animation and producing skills to create high quality animated movies. Their work paid off extremely well as Studio Ghibli is now highly successful and very popular, especially with younger generations.
Miyazaki Hayao did not allow the western world to see his creations for a number of years. He then released them through a contract with Walt Disney Studios in the late ’90s. The only condition was that the films remain unedited. It’s pretty clear now that the world of streaming has been fully embraced by the Studio Ghibli founders. We’re ready to watch their already enormous fan-base continue to grow in the next few months.
Many may recognise figures from the well-known movie Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (Spirited Away), which won various awards including the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival (2002) and the Academy Award (2003) for Best Animated Film.
Finally, some amazing classic animations are coming to Aussie Netflix! (Apart from Shrek of course).
