5 acts you can’t afford to miss at Yours & Owls Festival this weekend

Yours & Owls Festival 2019 is almost upon us. This weekend, the festival will return with possibly their biggest lineup ever. As always, the bill is busrting at the seams with homegrown and international talent… so we’ve gone through the full lineup with a fine toothcomb to deliver you some of the best.

Here are five acts you can’t afford to miss at Yours & Owls Festival this weekend…

As has come to be expected, this year’s Yours & Owls Festival lineup is brimming with incredible talent. We’ve rounded up five of the best.

Bass Drum Of Death

This weekend, for the first time in over four years, New York’s Bass Drum Of Death will be stepping foot on Australian soil. Headed by lo-fi garage legend John Barrett, the band will be belting through material from their latest record Just Business, as well as material from across their highly-energetic discography. If you’re a fan of thrashy, hook-driven garage-punk, you don’t want to miss out on this set.

Kwame

If you’ve never seen Kwame live before, please go see him at Yours & Owls this weekend. Fresh off the release of his latest single STOP KNOCKIN’ @ MY DOOR (the first single off his upcoming third EP), the Western Sydney rapper will be bringing his effortlessly intense live show to the big stage this Saturday.

Crocodylus

On Friday, Northern Beaches lads Crocodylus released their latest EP Enjoy; a seven-track collection of blood-pumping garage. With tracks like Adrenaline, Motivation, and Heartbeat, you can expect this set to be one of the weekend’s most high-paced. Over the past number of years, Crocs have built themselves into one of the tightest live bands kicking – so do yourself a favour and catch them at the Rad Stage this Sunday.

A. Swayze & The Ghosts

Back in August, we invited Hobart band A. Swayze & The Ghosts to come play the launch party for Happy Mag Issue 12. It was absolute mayhem. Frontman Andrew Swayze is an absolute animal, and you can expect to something wild whenever he takes to a stage. If we had to pick the most unpredictable artist on Yours & Owls’ 2019 lineup, it’d be these guys. Don’t miss them do their thing.

Genesis Owusu

All the artists in this list so far deliver incredibly high-octane live shows, and Canberra rapper Genesis Owusu is no different. Known for his costumes and back-up dancers, Genesis Owusu consistently delivers world class hip-hop sets. If you’re feeling a little tired  this Sunday afternoon, we recommend catching his set – it’ll be the perfect remedy.
