Nick Cave is to be the subject of a new graphic biography called Nick Cave: Mercy On Me, by renowned graphic novelist, Reinhard Kleist.
A graphic biography about Nick Cave – described as “a chilling and completely bizarre journey into Cave World” – is on its way.
The 328-page black and white novel will examine Cave from his childhood growing up in rural Victoria, through to his work with The Birthday Party and The Bad Seeds, and features a “cast of characters drawn from Cave’s music and writing.”
Cave himself has described the novel:
“Reinhard Kleist, master graphic novelist and myth-maker has – yet again – blown apart the conventions of the graphic novel by concocting a terrifying conflation of Cave songs, biographical half-truths and complete fabulations and creating a complex, chilling and completely bizarre journey into Cave World. Closer to the truth than any biography, that’s for sure! But for the record, I never killed Elisa Day.”
