It was earlier this year, with the release of his latest single Minute, that we were first introduced to the immersive and innovative sounds of Melbourne based singer-songwriter Luke Carlino. Carlino crafts sprawling and idiosyncratic electronic gems that will crawl into your body and stay there for weeks.
Now, with the release of his new EP Beasts, Carlino continues to build upon his sounds to deliver something unusual and truly captivating. It should go without saying that we’re stoked to be premiering it for you today.
On his cinematic and disorientating new EP Beasts, Melbourne based singer-songwriter Luke Carlino presents a truly unique collection of electronic gems.
Throughout the new EP, Luke Carlino navigates a disorientating blend of pop, indie rock, and electronica to craft a sound that is uniquely his own. Both glitchy and cinematic, Beasts will rope you in and pull you in myriad directions. Carlino’s music never sits in one place for too long, but that is perhaps its most endearing quality.
One moment you’ll find yourself floating through an ethereal slice of dream pop, and the next you’ll find yourself getting thrown around by flailing production and layered vocal melodies.
The result of this strange concoction is one of the most unique listening experiences we’ve come across in some time. Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait long to hear what Luke Carlino delivers next.
For now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new EP above.
