Classic rock maverick Todd Rundgren can now add author to his repertoire of talents.
The musicians’s first book, an autobiography named after his 1995 album The Individualist, will be hitting shelves at the end of the month.

With a career spanning fifty years and multiple talents, Todd Rundgren has released 21 studio albums, produced acclaimed records for bands as varied as Meatloaf, Bad Finger, The New York Dolls and XTC, and pioneered not only in electronic music and prog rock, but in music video, computer software and Internet music delivery as well.
His new book, which spans 240 pages, details his life both in and out of the limelight. Rundgren reflects on his expansive career and dramatic personal life, and the book shares anecdotes about his experiences and encounters with the likes of Janis Joplin, Brian Wilson, Ringo Starr, Patti Smith, The New York Dolls and Meatloaf, amongst a bunch of other big names.
The Individualist is separated into easily digestible three-paragraph chapters, perfect for readers and non-readers alike, and features a collection of previously unseen photos of the artist throughout his monumental career.
Rundgren’s book will arrive shortly after the artist finds out whether he’ll be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year. He currently sits in third place in the fan poll hosted by the Rock Hall’s official website, tailing closely behind Def Leppard and Stevie Nicks.
The Individualist is available to pre-order via Amazon. It’s planned for release on December 21.
