Inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey, David Bowie released Space Oddity in 1969, which quickly became the hit that launched his career.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the song, Parlophone will be releasing a special double 7″ box set that will be available from 12th of July.
The 50th anniversary box set will include a double-sided poster featuring an original “Space Oddity” print advertisement and a photo of Bowie shot by Ray Stevenson.

The box set will also contain an information card and print featuring an image of the legendary artist taken by Jojanneke Claassen.
