Paul McCartney dropped into Las Vegas over the weekend, and he wasn’t alone. Aerosmith frontman, Steven Tyler, teamed up with the Beatles legend to perform the heavy White Album hit Helter Skelter.
Helter Skelter is one of those songs that has been covered by several big name artists, including U2, Mötley Crüe and Oasis (to name a few). However, it’s Aerosmith that are most well known for their 1975 studio edition of the track.
The collision of these two forces is the product of a beautiful scheduling coincidence. McCartney was in Las Vegas on Friday, and Tyler was to perform at an Aerosmith concert on Saturday.
McCartney was performing a 38-song setlist that night, and Tyler was brought on stage as a surprise act to assist during the encore. He brought on the Aerosmith legend with style; “We have a special guest for you: Mr Steven Tyler”.
These two master craftsmen donned their respective tools; McCartney with his trademark Hofner Violin Bass and Tyler with his gravely, growly voice. Two globally renown Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, shaking the arena with a Herculean reverberation that only musical demigods can create.
For anyone still trying to catch the Beatles superstar on tour, McCartney still has a couple of upcoming shows in San Jose and Los Angeles. You can book tickets here (if there are any left).
Aerosmith on the other hand have a more generous number of US tour dates, including a ton of shows in Vegas, baby. Tickets can be booked here.
