It was hot news just a few months back that the infamous Chris Brown had been denied a Visa to enter Australia on the grounds of his previous record of domestic violence. It has now been announced the the R&B singer has officially cancelled his upcoming tour following multiple pleas for leniency.
Due to kick off next week, his One Hell Of a Nite Tour will not be taking place following an official statement being issued by the tour’s promoters, one that stated:
“The shows scheduled at Perth Arena on 9 December, Rod Laver Arena on 12 December, Allphones Arena on 14 December and Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 16 December are cancelled. Mr Brown and the promoters both remain positive that the tour will take place in the near future. Mr Brown wishes to express his deepest gratitude to the fans for their support and looks forward to a successful tour in the near future.”
Brown was denied a Visa back in September following a petition that called for him to be denied entry to the country. He responded by asking for leniency, hiring lawyers to fight the case while also claiming that he was “no longer the pink elephant in the room,” and that he would be “grateful to come to Australia to raise awareness about domestic violence.”
You can get your refunds for the cancelled shows via Ticketek.
