Taking place on the 20th of January at The Crescent in Parramatta Park, this final performance promises to be a captivating evening. Anoushka Shankar, a world music sensation with nine Grammy nominations, has been enchanting audiences since the age of 13, following in the footsteps of her legendary father, Ravi Shankar.

Known for her fusion of musical styles, from electronic elements in “Rise” and “Breathing Underwater” to the unique blend of flamenco and raga in the 2011 album “Traveller,” Shankar is a true musical innovator.

Returning to Sydney after her outstanding shows in 2018, Anoushka Shankar brings new material from the mini-album “Chapter I: Forever, For Now,” alongside reinterpreted classics from her previous releases. Leading a five-piece ensemble of exceptionally talented London instrumentalists, each a solo artist in their own right, the performance promises hypnotic and achingly beautiful contemporary music deeply rooted in Indian classical traditions and the experiences of a global diaspora.

The program for the concert is a rich tapestry of compositions, including Shankar’s own works like “Between Us” and “Release,” along with pieces by other composers such as William Barton and Véronique Serret’s “Bush(fire) Requiem,” Neil Murray and George Burarrwanga’s “My Island Home,” John Williams’ “Adventures on Earth,” James Horner’s “Apollo 13: Main Title,” and classics like Strauss’ “Blue Danube” and Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition: Baba Yaga & The Great Gate of Kiev.”

This is a golden opportunity to witness the sitar queen in action, so don’t miss out on this incredible musical experience!
