It’s still more than half a year until Splendour in the Grass returns, but already there’s been some speculation that Arctic Monkeys may be playing in 2018 after the band announced some European tour dates with a late July vacancy that the festival could slot comfortably in to.
Arctic Monkeys have hinted they may be playing Splendour In The Grass 2018 after announcing some European tour dates.
Last September, Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders hinted that a new album would be out in 2018, saying in an interview “if it isn’t, we’ve got problems”. Now the band have all but confirmed new material is on the way, announcing they will be headlining some massive European festivals later in the year, including Primavera Sound in Spain and Hurricane in Germany.
June, July and August are basically fully booked for the band, but between Mad Cool Festival on July 13th and Oya Fest on August 8th, there’s plenty of time to duck over to Australia for Splendour (and maybe even a cheeky sideshow or two). See for yourself via the band’s website below.
SITG 2018 will be taking place between Friday 20th and Sunday 22nd July. Stay tuned for more details on the lineup.
