In 2017, she won the Josh Pyke Partnership and released her debut single Slow Mover which went Gold. In July 2019, McMahon released her debut solo album Salt which peaked at #5 on the ARIA Charts. Later that year McMahon released a cover of Tom Waits' Take It With Me, the lead single from a tribute album titled Come On Up to the House: Women Sing Waits.
In 2020 McMahon covered ABBA's Knowing Me, Knowing You for Triple J's Like A Version.
