Fritz is the dream-pop project of Newcastle native, Tilly Murphy. Her eponymous debut 2017 album, was a DIY, lo-fi portrait of her life, and cemented her place as one of Newcastle, if not New South Wales, most promising new acts.
Fritz sound is drenched in waves of shoegaze, and blasts of noise-pop, which has been perfected over four singles since. In 2019 Fritz won the Triple J Unearthed Groovin' The Moo competition. The latest track, Jan 1, is likely Fritz' best work to date and hints at a sophomore album release in 2020.
