The Strokes are a highly influential rock band from New York City. Formed in 1998, the band consist of vocalist Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., bassist Nikolai Fraiture, and drummer Fabrizio Moretti. Their debut album Is This It (2001) met immense critical acclaim and was a key component of ushering in the garage rock revival of the 21st Century.
In 2014, Julian Casablancas formed experimental rock group The Voidz are released two albums. In 2016 Casablancas produced The Growlers' fifth album City Club. Following the conclusion of five-album deals with RCA and Rough Trade, the band has continued to release new music through Casablancas' Cult Records.
