Splendour In The Grass is back with a bang, revealing three dazzling headliners for their 20th-anniversary edition, set to take place in July 2021.
After being cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, beloved Aussie festival Splendour In The Grass has revealed the confirmed headliners for its 2021 edition.
The event will mark the festival’s 20th anniversary, and if this first lineup drop is anything to go by, it’s sure to be a kickass year.
Originally postponed from its July 2020 date to October, last month the festival was again rescheduled to July 2021 due to uncertainties surrounding the reopening of Australia’s borders. At the time, the festival organisers promised they would try and retain as much of the original lineup as possible, and it seems that so far they’ve been fairly successful.
Headliners The Strokes and Tyler, The Creator are set to return for next year’s event, however, local Flume has unfortunately dropped out. Lucky for us, his successor ain’t too shabby, being replaced by none other than British legends, the Gorillaz, who will be headlining the opening night, Friday, July 23.
The festival took to social media this morning to announce the news:
We are so excited to announce our headliners for #SITG2021 and we DARE you not to FEEL GOOD INC.

The Gorillaz have been dropping new music this year under their Song Machine project, a series of releases which promise to feature an “ever-evolving roster” of collaborators. Check out their latest Octavian-featuring track below.
