The Strokes announce summer tour with indie darling Angel Olsen

Get ready to party like it’s 2023, because The Strokes and Angel Olsen are teaming up for a summer tour that’s bound to be one for the books.

Indie rock legends The Strokes have announced an epic show at Queens, New York’s Forest Hills Stadium, and they’re bringing along singer-songwriter Angel Olsen for the ride. The show is part of the stadium’s summer series, which is celebrating the venue’s 100th anniversary and 10-year anniversary of being renovated into a music venue.

The Forest Hills show is set for August 19, and will feature support from Olsen, comedian Seaton Smith, and Promiseland (aka Johann Rashid). Fans can sign up for presale tickets now, with the general sale starting on Friday.

Olsen is no stranger to the indie rock scene, having garnered critical acclaim for her unique blend of folk and rock on her past albums, including 2022’s “Big Time”. Her new EP, “Forever Means”, drops this Friday, featuring the title track which Olsen has described as a “nod to George Harrison”. The EP was co-produced and mixed by Jonathan Wilson, and Olsen is set to play a number of North American tour dates this summer, including the Forest Hills show with The Strokes.

The Strokes, meanwhile, continue to be one of the most beloved and influential indie rock bands of the past two decades. The New York City band burst onto the scene in the early 2000s with their classic debut album “Is This It”, and have continued to release critically acclaimed music, most recently with their 2020 album “The New Abnormal”. The Forest Hills show will feature a stacked lineup of other indie rock favorites, including IDLES, LCD Soundsystem, Arctic Monkeys, and boygenius.

This summer is shaping up to be a fantastic one for indie rock fans, with The Strokes and Angel Olsen leading the charge at Forest Hills Stadium. Get ready to rock out under the stars in Queens this August!
