The family of Avicii have announced the Tim Bergling Foundation in honour of the late DJ/Producer who died at the tragic age of 28 last year.
The fondation will primarily focus on suicide prevention and mental illness among an array of other causes.
In the wake of EDM heavyweight Avicii’s passing, his family are using the wealth accrued to tackle global issues by establishing the Tim Bergling Foundation.
As two very prominent issues in the current social conversation, they aim to provide ailment to any suffering from the same issues that led to Avicci’s passing.
Furthermore, the foundation will launch campaigns against issues such as climate change, development assistance, nature conservation and endangered species. All noble and critical causes, and they will be addressed in Avicci’s home country of Sweden as well as internationally.
Before his death at the age of 28, Avicii was at the forefront of the EDM movement, achieving huge international success with hits like Levels and Wake Me Up.
His family later disclosed that he had been suffering from mental health issues. After several years of unrelenting work, the DJ icon withdrew from the music scene in 2016. His family later concluded, ‘He could not go on any longer, he wanted to find peace.’
