Beatles biopics recreate infamous Abbey Road album cover

Abbey Road (Remastered)

A crosswalk that is ingrained in every music fan’s head, and undoubtedly the rest of the world’s, is now coming to the silver screen.

It was only a matter of time until the crew behind Sam Mendes’ four-set Beatles biopics would end up at the infamous crosswalk attached to one of the biggest classic rock albums of all time, Abbey Road.

Thanks to eager fans on the ground, the internet was blessed with exclusive footage of new Fab Four recreating the cover.

Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr), Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Joseph Quinn (George Harrison) and Harris Dickinson (John Lennon) walk the crosswalk through multiple takes, while wearing the iconic outfits as well.

Yes, even Paul’s dawgs are out.

In other footage, Quinn (Harrison) can be seen crossing the road on his own while the rest of the crew walk past.

This could be a recreation of the six photos that were shot by Ian Macmillan back in 1969, when the band were recording their final album.

Up until this point, the biggest appearance of the fabled crosswalk on screen are Beatles docos like If These Walls Could Sing or the dream sequence in Danny Boyle’s 2019 comedy, Yesterday.

The crosswalk’s rare appearance in film is mainly due to local council restrictions.

At the end of the day it’s still a functional crosswalk, in which filming would cause severe traffic delays and fuming frustrated Brits.

That hasn’t stopped the production since the Beatles are the biggest band in the history of time.

With full access to years of recorded history, music rights to their entire discography, and a fanbase that spans multiple generations; these movies are shaping up to be something truly special.

The four films are set to land on April 7, 2028, where fans will get to see Abbey Road and more.
