From Pamela to Mystique: Here are some of this year’s best celebrity Halloween costumes

Keke Palmer, Lizzo and more feature on this year’s celebrity Halloween costumes round-up.

If you couldn’t tell from the premature pumpkin displays and echo of forthcoming trick or treaters, we’re well and truly in the midst of spooky season. Over the weekend, celebrities turned out in droves to mark the occasion, each donning some truly outlandish (and covetable) costumes for Halloween 2022. Drawing from a range of inspirations, from Pixar to 90’s pop culture and Marvel, these people took home the award for the year’s best celebrity Halloween costumes.

Kardashian-Jenner clan

Say what you will about the famous family, but they spare no expense when it comes to Halloween, often opting for whole photoshoots to showcase their looks. This year, Kylie Jenner sported an updo for her Bride of Frankenstein costume, while Kendall Jenner gave Toy Story an R-rating with a butt-forward Jessie the cowboy look. Kim, meanwhile, channeled X-Men’s Mystique for a full-blue-body paint look.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly

Coasting on the revival of one of the ’90s most infamous couples, equally headline-grabbing partners Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly dressed up as none other than Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee.

Keke Palmer as Rapunzel and X-Men‘s Rogue

Channeling two characters who fans have been begging for her to play, actress Keke Palmer this year sported two Halloween looks in a Rapunzel and Rogue from X-Men costume.

Lizzo Simpson

Taking a page from Kardashian’s body paint look, Lizzo recreated the loveable matriarch, Marge Simpson for her 2022 Halloween costume.

Megan Thee Stallion as Megan Thee Pumpkin

Keeping it simple for her take, rapper Megan Thee Stallion donned only a jack-o’-lantern pumpkin for her costume, enjoying the look with a glass of champagne to boot.

Kerry Washington as Lionel Richie

In a crossover we never knew we needed, Kerry Washington honoured the great Lionel Richie with a curly-haired costume of the ballad singer. The actress specifically recreated Richie’s cover for his 1982 self-titled debut album.

MUNA as the Freaky Friday band

On the back of news that a sequel might be in the works, indie pop band MUNA dressed up as the punk-rock band from the Disney classic, Freaky Friday. Better yet, MUNA even performed as the fictional Pink Slip band during their show over the weekend.
