Best Coast are back, mates. Yesterday the duo dropped For The First Time, the only new slice we’ve heard since their amazing 2015 record California Nights.
And the good news keeps rollin’. They also dropped a video with the tune, and there’s an album coming your way in 2020.
Rockin’ LA duo Best Coast are back on the scene, dropping a long-awaited return single titled For The First Time.
For The First Time glitters with the same breed of nostalgic, ’90s-infused magic that has decorated their discography to date. The tune is uplifting as hell, praising personal growth and the rewarding outer feeling which inner progress creates.
“People can change/’Cause I finally feel free/I feel like myself again/but for the first time”, Bethany Cosentino sings over a sky-high guitar melody. Instant smiles.
Though Best Coast have been almost totally quiet of late, Australian fans may have caught Cosentino in town recently at Bigsound, where she appeared as a keynote speaker.
The single comes as the first taste of a forthcoming album from Best Coast. Right now we know it will be called Always Tomorrow and it will be released in 2020, but further details are slim. That said, For The First Time is more than enough to satiate our joy quotas.
For The First Time is out now via Concord Records. Best Coast’s upcoming LP Always Tomorrow is due for a 2020 release.
