Drink in the dreamy synth-pop goodness of Changelings’ new album From My Raygun With Love

When Melbourne outfit Changelings dropped their incredible debut album Poppyfields in late 2016, we immediately knew to start paying attention.

Now, the group have dropped their new album From My Raygun With Love… and seriously, how could you not love an album with a title like that?

From My Raygun With Love, the mesmerising new album from Melbourne’s Changelings, will crawl beneath your skin and make your body dance.

On the new album, the band navigate elements of psych-rock and shimmering indie-pop to create a sound that belongs entirely to themselves.

Changelings is the brainchild of Melbourne-based songwriter Jay Penaflor, who for the past number of years has developed an incredible penchant for crafting deeply infectious dream-pop tunes.

Opening track Love Like Diamonds kicks the new album into existence with airy synth work that builds into a glittery slice of disco-infused pop.

The entire album is brimming with seriously addictive vocal melodies, though perhaps none more notable than those flaunted on Moondance Venus. Here Penaflor adopts the relaxed, effects-drenched croon of Mac Demarco to deliver a song that’ll crawl beneath your skin and make your body groove.

By the time the album’s slow-burning and epic closer They Don’t Hold A Candle fades back into oblivion, you’ll be once again left wanting more from Changelings. Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait for long.

For now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new album above.
