Wanna hear my new way to discover new music? Instead of trawling through miscellaneous music blogs (just like this one), I’ve discovered a short cut! You just go to the Facebook page of a band you really, really like, and run through their “Likes”. Open all the links to bands, and bam. You’re bound to find at least one you like. Case in point: this is how I found girl band Childsaint (yes, I know pointing out their gender is stupid but I like girl bands).
Their slowed down, glittery (but tough) brand of acoustic alternative shit reminds me of Sharon Van Etten. Anyone who is a fan of the latter should give Cemetery a spin.
If you’re located on the west-end of this enormous country, Childsaint seem to play a regular stream of gigs in and around Perth, so keep your eyes glued to their Facebook page for details.
