Pokémon Crocs – a love story

’90s kids and early 2000’s babies! The most ultimate and unexpected collab has been graced upon us – Pokémon Crocs.

It’s time to give in and buy a pair of crocs, so you can rock some iconic characters from the beloved franchise, Pokémon.

Pokémon originated from Pocket Monsters: Red and Green, a Japanese pair of video games for the handheld Game Boy system which emerged from Game Freak and was published by Nintendo in February 1996.

Pokémon was quick to become one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time as it adapted into a range of different media outlets. With more than 440 million copies sold and one billion mobile downloads, the Pokémon video game series has landed its self-third place in the best-selling video game franchise of all time!

This video game flourished into an anime television series that has earned itself the most successful video game adaption ever with a whopping 20 seasons and 1,000 episodes streaming in 192 countries. It’s the longest currently running anime series.

With top-selling toys, an anime film series, the Pokémon Trading Card Game Magna’s, comics, music, and a temporary theme park, Pokémon continues to be potent in pop culture. And now crocs have snatched them up!

There are currently 920 Pokémon species. Let’s have a look at some beloved characters that would be iconic to sport on some new crocs.

Tyranitar

Full of spikes and claws on both its hands and feet, this character resembles a terrifying dinosaur. Tyranitar is incredibly strong with an armour-like build to protect it from any kind of attack. Tyranitar is brave and will not step down during battle. This character does set off powerful earthquakes though.

Bulbasaur

Classified as a seed Pokémon, Bulbasaur is well known for the three starter Pokémon in Versions Red & Blue. It is the only one that possesses Grass & Poison which gives it assistance when dealing with Water, Electric, and Fighting-types. It only takes 25% damage from attacks of Grass types yet takes double the damage from Fire, Flying, and Psychic-type moves.

Pickachu

Pikachu will forever be the first and most notable character from the series. This yellow, electric, rodent-like creature represents the friendship and love behind the show and the characters. Pikachu spits electrical discharges through its tail, which can shock any opponent.
