Don’t Dream It’s Over: Crowded House are coming back with 2022 Australian tour

Crowded House have announced they will be touring Australia for the first time in 12 years.

Following the release of their 2021 album Dreamer’s are Waiting, Crowded House will be taking the show on the road in 2022. Already billed to play BluesFest in Byron Bay in April, the boys will then kick off the tour through Australia’s major cities.

Here’s hoping there will be less trouble than when Neil Finn iconically declared war against the residents of the Toaster in 2016, after the Sydney Opera Houses’ open-air shows received several complaints from the harbour’s surrounding residencies.

Imagine living on the water by the Sydney Opera House and complaining about some free live music travelling your way. It’s a tough life.

Next year, the band’s Sydney show will be played at the Aware Super Theatre (the strange new name of the ICC) on April 12, following their Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne shows.

Crowded House will then mosey on over to Bowral to play A Day on The Green on April 16, before rounding things up in Aus at Byron Bay BluesFest the next day.

It’ll be a Finn family affair, with the band’s line-up now including both of Neil’s sons, Elroy and Liam. Only two of the original band members, Neil (frontman) and Nick Seymour (bassist) will grace the stage.

Currently dominating the indie-rock scene, and on the back of an ARIA win for Best Rock Album, Sydney’s Middle Kids will be supporting Crowded House at their capital city shows throughout their Aussie tour.

General sale tickets will be available from 12pm Friday, December 10, with pre-sale starting 2pm Thursday, December 9. Head on over to the Live Nation site to grab these.

An exclusive pre-sale for AMEX members will be available from 1pm Tuesday, December 7.
