Rich with funky electronic synths, driven by guitars and filled with electronic drum beats, Airborne doesn’t fall short of anything, except for more tracks to follow.
Back with a new track so nostalgic it quite literally takes you back to those In Ghost Colours partying days, Cut Copy have just released single Airborne.
Airborne is Cut Copy’s first release of new music since 2013 and is so similar to the tracks created before it, it’s almost as though the four year hiatus was just a dream.
Released through Astralwerks, Airborne incorporates the classic, feel-good groove that is never missed within a Cut Copy track. Rich with funky electronic synths, driven by guitars and filled with electronic drum beats, Airborne doesn’t fall short of anything, except for more tracks to follow. The vocals are drizzled in reverb that gradually progress to a climax backed by a series of harmonies, every bit as mesmerising as Cut Copy’s previous work.
Free Your Mind was the last album released by the group in 2013, aside from a handful of mixes such as January Tape that was released in 2016, Forest Through the Trees in 2015 and Oceans Apart in 2014.
Ben Browning from the group also released a solo LP in 2015 titled Turns, which took on a very similar sound to Cut Copy.
