This October, Darebin Music Feast will be returning for another year… and today the festival have announced their incredible and diverse 2018 program.
Set to take place across eleven days, from October 18th-28th, the Victorian city will host a massive celebration of great music and songwriting.
This October, Darebin Music Feast are returning for their 22nd year… and they’ll be bringing with them an incredible and diverse program of live music, panel discussions, film screenings, and more.
This year’s instalment of the festival will aim to recognise and respond to inequality in the music industry. Whether it be gender disparity, lack of racial diversity, or sexism, Darebin Music Feast will tackle these issues by holding a series of all-inclusive events – many of which are free to attend, wheelchair accessible, and all-ages.
Included in this year’s festival program will be film screenings, panel discussions and of course, live music.
Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore and Michelle Grace Hunter’s documentary Her Sound, Her Story will be screened at the festival; exploring conscious and unconscious gender bias in the music industry.
On top of this, Darebin will be holding a truly epic closing party on Sunday October 28th across multiple venues, featuring such names as RVG, Jaala, Loose Tooth, and a stack of others.
