Dolly Parton wants to be on the cover of Playboy for her 75th birthday

For her 75th birthday, Dolly Parton has requested to once again grace the front cover of Playboy magazine.

In a recent interview with 60 minutes, the country singer (who should be in the rock & roll hall of fame) revealed she has no plans of retiring, and in fact has big ideas for her next birthday.

Dolly Parton PlayboyDolly Parton wants to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again, four decades after she first appeared in a pair of bunny ears and a bowtie.

The 9 to 5 singer’s career has spanned decades and includes collaborations with Willie Nelson, Sylvester Stallone, and Norah Jones. Although she doesn’t consider herself a feminist, through her music she has drawn attention towards women’s struggle for equality in the workplace.

“It would be such a hoot, I don’t know if they’ll go for it,” she said in relation to the magazine.

At 75, Dolly would be the oldest model on the cover of Playboy, after Jane Seymour who posed in a stunning photo shoot at age 67.

Dolly Parton first appeared in the magazine in 1978, after rejecting several offers to pose nude. She later said going nude “was so totally not me. I would never do that.”

Playboy’s risqué brand has undergone some tumultuous repositioning in recent years. The original publication housed pin-up models and raunchy photoshoots printed alongside writers like Kurt Vonnegut, Margaret Atwood, and Ray Bradbury.

The magazine rebranded in 2015 by banning nude photographs and then pulled a hasty 180 in 2018, deciding they wanted nude covers after all. In 2019, the brand moved to a team of millennials who just hoped to “stay relevant”.

When asked whether this time ’round she would wear the same outfit as she did back in 1978, Parton responded: “My boobs are still the same!”

Bless this woman. Where’s the petition to get her on the cover?
