Donald Trump launches new ‘personal blog’ in the wake of Twitter ban

You wouldn’t think of him as the coffee-shop Tumblr girl, but Donald Trump has just launched his own personal blog.

Donald Trump has long been floating the idea of creating his own social media platform since being banned from Twitter and Facebook in the wake of the infamous Capitol riots – plus all that COVID misinformation.

But, for once, Trump has followed through on a promise after starting what is essentially a blog that features free-though, Tweet-like rants. While we’re disappointed he didn’t make a customisable Tumblr dashboard, it’s definitely a start.

The new “communications” website says that it will publish content “straight from the desk” of the former U.S President, with users and fans being able to share the former president’s bizarre posts onto Twitter and Facebook accounts.

In true Trump fashion, he started the blog off with a video congratulating his ‘grand return’.

“In a time of silence and lies, a beacon of freedom arises,” the video said.
“A place to speak freely and safely, straight from the desk of Donald J Trump.”

The website itself is built by Campaign Nucleus, the same digital services company created by Trump’s former campaign manager, Brad Parscale.

Furthermore, Trump’s senior adviser, Jason Miller, had previously said in March that the new social media platform was going to be “big.”

However, even Miller seems to be having second thoughts about the site, after tweeting on Tuesday that the platform was not the supposedly stoic, social media utopia that he’d originally thought.

“We’ll have additional information coming on that front in the very near future,” he said.

Trump’s decision to launch the bizarre blog comes a day before Facebook’s oversight board makes a groundbreaking decision on whether to permanently ban Trump from its platform.

Already, several posts on the site repeat debunked claims that last year’s presidential election was rigged – a theory that has been proven factually incorrect continuously since the inauguration of President Biden.

“Over the past four years, my administration delivered for Americans of all backgrounds like never before,” the website reads while explaining Trump’s purpose.

“Save America is about building on those accomplishments, supporting the brave conservatives who will define the future of the America First Movement, the future of our party, and the future of our beloved country.”

YouTube has said they will reactivate Trump’s account when the threat of “real-world violence” from his insanity reduces.

Twitter on the other hand, where Mr Trump reached 88 million followers, has banned him permanently.
