Los Angeles police are still investigating, but as of Sunday, have told reporters no arrests have been made. LAPD spokesman, Officer Luis Garcia, has said “Detectives are still trying to figure things out.”

Once Upon a Time is a hip-hop/RnB festival, taking place at the Banc of California and Exposition Park over the weekend, and everything seemed to be going well throughout the day, but things took a fatal turn as the night carried on.

A fight broke out behind the main stage on Saturday night around 8.30pm, and Caldwell was rushed to hospital after being injured by a suspect wielding an edged weapon, as described by the California Highway Patrol.

Sets from Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent, were cancelled, with festival organisers making the call to can the rest of the show after the stabbing occurred.

Live Nation have said, “There was an altercation in the roadway backstage. Out of respect for those involved and in coordination with local authorities, artists and organisers decided not to move forward with remaining sets so the festival was ended an hour early.”

Caldwell began releasing mixtapes back in 2015, and quickly garnered a cult following among the rap scene in LA. He had just released his first album, The Truth Hurts, in February this year.
