Ed Jackson is ushering in the summer on his new single Windswept

With a string of consistently great singles and EPs under his belt, Ed Jackson has spent the past number of years carving out an incredible unique sound for himself. The Sydney-based singer-songwriter crafts music that feels light-hearted yet emotionally resonant; grounded rich tones, but playful enough to chuck on at any social gathering.

Now, with the release of his new single Windswept, Jackson continues to establish his penchant for crafting deeply endearing folk-rock gems. If you haven’t already been paying attention to this name, now’s as good a time as any to start.

On his new single Windswept, Sydney-based singer-songwriter Ed Jackson captures the magic of a beach-side backyard party.

Throughout the new single, Ed Jackson glides through a captivating blend of indie-rock, folk, pop, and blues to deliver something truly his own. With lush, textured instrumental arrangements and soaring vocal melodies, Windswept is brimming with coastal charm.

Lyrically, Jackson captures mood of a beach-side backyard party. Across the track’s three-minute run-time, he paints a portrait of evey corner of a party – from Goon Of Fortune to Diablo, he’s got everything.

“I’d taken some time-out over summer and enjoyed a few early nights falling asleep to the laughter and sounds of neighbours having backyard parties,” Jackson says of the track. “The lively atmosphere and liquored-up madness reminded me of being barefoot and totally carefree at parties up the coast when I was in my teens – so I captured some of those scenes in the song.”

Windswept is just one slice of Ed Jackson’s incredible discography, and judging by the quality of everything he’s delivered so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more great tunes.
