For nearly a decade now, Gold Coast-based outfit Electrik Lemonade have been nesting their sounds in listeners’ brains, forcing them to move their bodies. Their music is irresistibly danceable; an infectious blend of genres that’s guaranteed to possess your hips.
Now, with the release of their debut full-length album Squeezed Fresh, the band continue to build themselves as one of the most dynamic acts in Aussie music. If you haven’t been paying attention, it’s definitely time you started.
On their debut full-length album Squeezed Fresh, Electrik Lemonade prove themselves as one of Australia’s most exciting and dynamic musical outfits.
Throughout the new album, Electrik Lemonade glide through elements of funk, rock, soul, blues, hip-hop, and dance to create a sound that’s uniquely their own. With rich, groove-laden instrumentation, and energetic vocal hooks, Squeezed Fresh is brimming with energy.
After a brief introductory track, the band launch into the album’s title track Squeezed Fresh; a slice of funky soul that will seep deep into your bones. From here, they navigate a variety of sonic territories—never sitting in one place for too long. Panic At The Bistro (incredible song title) is an epic, tongue-in-cheek anthem, while Daisy Rover oozes out sultry charisma.
By the time the album’s closing track Say You Feel reaches its conclusion, you’ll have been roped in completely by Electrik Lemonade’s irresistibly infectious sounds.
While this may only be the band’s debut full-length offering, we’re sure we can expect more quality material in the not-too-distant future. Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait long to hear what they deliver next.
