Simultaneously energetic and emotionally weighted; Epiphanatic shares his new video for Give It Up

With over ten years of musical experience, spanning across a variety of genres, Wisconsin-based artist Epiphanatic (real name Jody Johnson) is not your average rapper.

The multi-instrumentalist utilizes his skills to craft blistering slices of hip-hop that feel simultaneously energetic and emotionally weighted. His latest single Give It Up is a perfect showcase of his songwriting abilities – it weaves explosive production with carefully considered lyricism.

With his new video for Give It Up, Wisconsin based artist Epiphanatic has established himself as one of hip-hop’s most exciting emerging acts.

Throughout the new single, Johnson stomps through an aggressive concoction of boom-bap and old-school, vintage sounding hip-hop to create a sound that’s uniquely his own. With textured beats and air-tight vocal delivery, Epiphanatic’s music is hard-hitting and completely captivating.

With a string of singles and videos already under his belt, Johnson has spent the past number of years building a reputation for himself in his hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. With a tenacity that is rare in young artists, Johnson looks set to claim his position atop the global hip-hop scene very soon. If you haven’t been paying attention, it’s definitely time you started.

These may still be relatively early days for this American artist, but judging by everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes from Epiphanatic.
