The post-rock instrumental band Explosions In The Sky are celebrating their 20th anniversary with an exciting vinyl reissue.
Music from their debut record How Strange, Innocence and The Rescue will emerge on digital platforms for the first time ever and deluxe and remastered packages of the albums will be available to buy as vinyl on August 16.
Explosions in the Sky will reissue their originally secret second album The Rescue which had only been released via CD mail order in 2005 and was never commercially available again… until now that is!
How Strange, Innocence will feature custom etching on the vinyl that will explain to fans the band’s story behind their debut album which is a pretty special addition to mark their exciting milestone as musicians.
2o years ago, the band came together in Texas and rose to popularity for their self-described “cathartic mini-symphonies“, along with their impressive and passionate live shows.
A few months ago they announced their 20th-anniversary tour would kick off on September 11 in Arizona, USA, in a tweet to their fans.
“Hi everyone, our band turns 20 years old this year and to celebrate we’re playing some shows this Fall. We hope to see some of you out there. And thanks for sticking with us for so long. We truly appreciate it.”
Explosions in the Sky will also be releasing some of their favourite designs from the past 20 years on new t-shirts and various other memorabilia. Esteban Rey, who has designed most of the band’s album cover art over the years, will also be responsible for designing the anniversary collection so you can bet it will be something truly memorable.
