Flyying Colours drop dreamy new single Running Late

Although they are currently galavanting around the UK, Melbourne shoegazers Flyying Colours are still drip feeding us new tunes ahead of the release of their 2nd EP due out in a few months. Running Late is the second taste of the EP entitled ROYGBIV (an acronym for Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet) and as you might expect its 3-and-a-half minutes of breezy 90s inspired rainbow pop.

Since releasing their killer self-titled EP back in early 2014, the four-piece have given us one single Not Today, which saw the band rehashing their 90s influences in a fuzzy slab of shoegaze goodness. On Running Late Flyying Colours dial back the distortion. They’ve taken a cleaner, more pop driven approach with shimmering guitars and drawling boy/girl vocals reminiscent of the softer side of Ride. The guitar hook threads hypnotically around the leisurely vocals and it’s most definitely going to be stuck in your head all day. Heal your Wednesday blues and keep chasing that rainbow with Flyying Colours.
