Foo Fighters dubbed “Vax Pushers” after announcing ‘no vaccine, no gig’

Ex-fans criticise Foo Fighters for “discrimination” and “Nazi-style tyranny” after announcing performance in front of vaxed audiences only.

In compliance with venue regulations, the Foo Fighters will only perform in front of vaccinated fans.

The performance is set to occur at New York’s Madison Square Garden and will be the band’s first live show in nearly 500 days. People wishing to attend the gig on 20 June must receive a second COVID-19 vaccination, two weeks before the mask-free event.

In a recent interview on the Stern Show, Grohl opened up about the frustrations and anticipation surrounding the return of live performances.

Referring to himself and the Foo Fighters, Grohl mentioned how they have been waiting for a “year and a half for venues to open up and…get back on stage“.

He stated that for the last 6 months, he and his bandmates have been preparing for gigs before announcing the event at Madison Square Garden.

I cannot wait, we’ve been rehearsing every day and writing this insane setlist of 25 years of songs, and now we finally have somewhere to do it…

The band are clearly excited, expressing their zeal over Twitter.

Grohl mentioned they were offered the gig 3.5 weeks out from when the performance was set to take place. Considering this, the necessity for hopeful attendees to be vaxed appears completely reasonable.

However, while some understand the band’s responsibility to ensure safety amongst large crowds during a pandemic, others have taken the opportunity to personally attack the band for burning bridges between them and their fans.

The announcement affected some fans so deeply that they vowed to consign every Foo Fighters “album and playlist” to the bin.

Regardless, the criticism seems to have left Grohl and the Foo Fighters unfazed, as their spirits continue to soar high with excitement towards their upcoming gig.

Who can blame them? After 15 months of no live performances and a plethora of loyal, generational fans, the gig is sure to sell out.

Tickets are currently ranging from $50 to $119, don’t miss out, folks!
