You read that right, Ratdog is going after the big wigs. In the upcoming federal election, everyone’s best mate Alex Dyson is running for a spot in parliament.
Dyson was included last minute as an independent running for the seat of Wannon in rural Victoria. Wannon also happens to be home to the town of Warrnambool, where Dyson was born and grew up.
Former triple j morning larrikin Alex Dyson has officially announced that he’s running as an independent in this year’s federal election.
Now we’re not saying that he won’t get it. But Wannon has been proudly Liberal for a whopping 64-year streak. While there’s not a lot known about his campaign, he has said that he’s running to give people an alternate to the big parties.
“I think people are a bit disillusioned,” he said. “It’s good to be a voice for all people.”
We also don’t know how many 18-29s are in the electorate of Wannon, but come election day, no doubt we’ll have a better idea based on the outcome.
