A gay pornographic video of three ‘police officers’ in Hong Kong went viral last month, provoking action from local authorities.
Despite being nine years old, the video of the ‘police officers’ was only recently picked up by Twitter and subsequently circulated online to a growing, and very amused audience.
Apparently, the video was not for commercial gain, but to satisfy the not-so-niche market of ‘men-in-uniform’. However, the issue at hand is that the ‘police uniforms’ look too damn real.
The video included three men engaging in oral and anal sex while dressed in police uniforms, with one of the men appearing bent over between the other two.
While the video is just 10 seconds long, it was enough for Hong Kong authorities to open an investigation and take action.
According to Hong Kong law, wearing the uniform of a law enforcement officer, or even anything that closely resembles one, can lead you to a whopping HK$1,000 fine or a 6-month jail sentence. So, arresting pornstars for dressing up as cops gets you closer to cops? Well played, guys.
So far, the charges have included unauthorised use of police uniforms, handling stolen goods, distribution of obscene materials and possession of an illegal extendable baton.
So far, two men involved in the video have been arrested, with only one appearing in the actual footage. Ng, 40 and Chow, 45, were arrested in Yuen Long in northwestern Hong Kong on Monday, and held for questioning.
Phones and hard disks were also seized during a police search of the apartment, and some equipment from the video, including a BB gun, handcuffs and the aforementioned extendable baton were all confiscated.
A police investigation is currently underway over the origin and authenticity of the uniforms.
