Sydney-based songwriter, composer, and producer Glenn Hopper is ready to take the music world by storm with his debut single and video, ‘Just For Now,’ released under Pointer Recordings / Remote Control.
A long-awaited masterpiece, the track’s journey began almost a decade ago when it was just a spontaneous stoned voice memo. Glenn breathed life into it in his sun-drenched studio above Newtown’s bustling Enmore Road, resulting in a captivating musical experience that knows no boundaries.
‘Just For Now’ is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the transient nature of modern life, skillfully blending classic musicianship, charming songwriting, and a captivating saxophone solo. Hopper’s distinctive sound and storytelling make this debut single truly exceptional.
Reflecting on the track’s creation, Glenn Hopper shares, “I was inspired by Jack Kerouac and the concept of spontaneous writing. I would hit record on my phone and let the music flow without any editing. If I wasn’t satisfied, I’d move on and write something new. It remained untouched until eight years later.”
To celebrate the release, Glenn Hopper and his band will grace the stage with the ‘Just For Now’ residency at Golden Age Cinema, a four-week extravaganza kicking off on Thursday, July 13th.
Glenn’s signing to Pointer Recordings / Remote Control comes as no surprise, as the label boasts an impressive roster, including Telenova and Jamaica Moana. Label head Sweetie Zamora couldn’t be more thrilled, stating, “Glenn is a pure talent, a gentle soul, and a deep thinker.
