Glydd. break the boundaries of pop music on ‘For Now’

Today marks something of a new beginning for Glydd. Since their inception in 2018, the group have undergone some significant alterations; most notably, they’ve transitioned from being a four-piece band into a duo. While, generally, such a transition would result in a more low-key, limited style, Glydd. have just unveiled a huge new single, proving their songwriting capabilities and far-reaching sonic ambitions.

With the release of For Now, the duo have kickstarted this new era of their career, all while establishing an incredible penchant for pop melody writing. If you’re not already across this band, now’s the perfect time to change that.

On their new single For Now, Glydd. usher in a new era of sound; one defined by sonic imagination and inventiveness.

All throughout the new single, Glydd. (made up of Tom Josephs and Owen Butterworth) glide through a shimmering blend of pop, indie-rock, and psychedelia, delivering something uniquely their own. With lush, cascading synth lines, blissful vocal harmonies, and pulsating, dance-focused rhythms, For Now is equal parts immersive and infectious.

Across its brief, two-and-a-half-minute run-time, the song builds into a whirlpool of imagination and inventiveness. Getting swept up in its swirling hooks and arrangements will never not be a good time.

These are still early days in this new era of Glydd., but judging by what we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more great tunes. In the meantime, do yourself a favour and listen to the new single above.
