It was last year, with the release of their debut single Apathy, that we were first introduced to the blistering hard rock sounds of Adelaide four-piece Grey Hearts Red. With the track’s release, the band immediately established themselves as one of the most hard-hitting acts in Aussie music.
Now, with the release of their new single Evoke, they continue to build this reputation for themselves. If you’re not already across this band, it’s certainly time you changed that.
On their blistering new single Evoke, Adelaide-based four-piece Grey Hearts Red continue to establish themselves as one of the most heavy-hitting acts in Aussie music.
Throughout the new single, Grey Hearts Red belt through a high-octane concoction of thunderous drum beats, crunching guitars, and soaring vocal hooks to craft a track that will both smack you in the face and get stuck in your head.
While the track flaunts some truly bone-rattling instrumentation, it carries a positive message. To contrast the track’s urgent, heavy tones, Evoke conveys themes of stopping and considering things before acting in a way you might regret.
“I reckon most people would agree sometimes we need more than just a few deep breaths,” vocalist Andrew says.
By the time you reach the conclusion of Evoke’s three-minute duration, you’ll have been roped in completely to their confronting blend of sounds.
These still may be early days for this Adelaide band, but judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes from Grey Hearts Red.
