On Saturday, July 17, Happy Mag presents Moody Beach’s The Other launch show at Waywards, in the heart of Newtown.
Nothing sounds better than experiencing live music right now, and what better way to absorb it than with the launch show of Sydney artist Moody Beach’s follow-up single The Other, kicking off at 7 pm on Saturday, July 17.
In partnership with The Music and Booze Company, Happy and Moody Beach (aka Melissah Mirage) will take over Waywards to celebrate the new single, with support from rising singer/songwriter Dominic Breen, and you can be there for only $18.
Moody Beach’s catalogue reads as a fluid distillation of her life experiences, expressed in song as she explores her agency and autonomy as a woman.
“A woman’s body is still a controversial subject. It’s something I consciously tackle through the music I make, how I behave and what I wear,” said Moody.
Released on May 21, The Other is draped with shoegaze guitars and Moody’s vocals coo and call in time with a serene allure.
Like her early 2021 track Why Not, The Other was produced by Kim Moyes of The Presets, whose discography has the transonic aesthetic that Moody looks for.
Moody Beach’s high-anticipated third EP, Assembly Of The Wild is set to drop this year with a new chapter of genre experimentation.
The EP has been produced entirely by Moyes and serves as an invitation into Moody Beach’s world of indie-pop catharsis.
Needless to say, live music never sounded so good…until right now.
